Ninoy Aquino timeline: How he lived and died
His death led to the downfall of a dictatorship and the restoration of Philippine democracy. His widow Cory went on to become the Philippine Republic’s 11th president. Last June 30, his son and namesake Noynoy became the 15th president. There is now little argument that Ninoy Aquino is among the Philippines’ most important and esteemed historical figures.
