@Artisticat86 If you mean wavy or ruffled, tons of people always seem to have this happen to them (not like it’s a bad thing or anything though, it always looks cute ruffled at the top) but that never seems to happen when I do it :o

@Rainbowveins1115 I have a different beanie cap that is in a lighter color. I have sent you the link.

  3. Rainbowveins1115

Umm, can you help me understand this better?? I am trying to get into crochet, I am soo confused!

  4. pcexamber4

what size hook are you using…what kind of yarn?

  5. tjw1963

@rvanz882293 I have since changed the color of yarn that I use to a lighter color. I realize that does not help you see this video any better. I do have other single crochet beanie caps with lighter colors that may help you see the stitches better.

  6. rvanz882293

I cant see what is she doing because of the color of the yarn y does this hav to be so hard

  7. crystalstarclan

i dun understand a single thing after watching so much vid! =(

  8. falalaxfearless

after you increased the stitches to twenty, my crochet turned more like an acorn cap instead of that flat shape you have at 2:59 … this always happens to me!

my work always seems to curl into a ball.. i dont know what im doing wrong.. am i doing it too tight perhaps? need help.. i want to make an oversized beanie… :(

  10. tjw1963

@Artisticat86 Thank you. The cap is a little full at the beginning. I do have other tutorials with caps that are less full on the top.

  11. tjw1963

@baygonliontiger I appreciate the comment, thank you.

  12. baygonliontiger

woooow.. you make it look so easy. :D thanks a million for making this video. :D you are talented.

  13. Artisticat86

Mine ended up bunchy on the top, but otherwise okay. =/ I wanted to thank you again! :) You have such awesome work.

  14. tjw1963

@xcrochetcrazyx I sent you a link to a video on how to join a round.

  15. xcrochetcrazyx

i have tried so hard but i get stuck at a slip stitch. it does no look like yours so im wondering if my yarn is poor quality; ive tried with two. Could you recommend another 1 of your videos to start with? Thanks xx

  16. tjw1963

@Artisticat86 I am glad that you got it figured out. :)

  17. Artisticat86

@tjw1963 K. ^_^ I figured it out after I sat down and tried it for a little bit. Thanks a bunch! I love this pattern, and I’m new to crochet and it’s super easy.

  18. tjw1963

@Artisticat86 I am working through the center of the chain loop, not through the actual chains.

  19. Artisticat86

Is she going under and not through the chain at the beginning? It’s hard to see. =/

hey i just wanted to see if you can tell me how to crochet a beanie but with really thin yarn and a size 0 hook. I would really appreciate it if you told me how or if u post a video no how to do that.

  21. tjw1963

@ewyousquishedit You have a choice to join rounds or work in a continual round so there are two ways to work the hat. If you have came out larger than the recommended pattern, it is possible that to many increase stitches were worked on each round.

Hi, I really liked this video! Unfortunately, I found it after I started working on a hat from another pattern. The pattern I was using did not tell me to join each round. I’m almost done with my hat now, and it’s turning out more like a beret shape than a beanie shape. Is this because I didn’t join the rounds?

Thanks for the help! I’m really glad that you take the time to respond to people’s questions.

Would anyone know of a felted beanie pattern for an adult? Thanks!

  24. tjw1963

@juliearkley I do use lighter colors now since they do show up better on camera. I will send you the link for more hats. Thank you for the comment.
